The best juice recipes to get you through the summer

Staying well-hydrated in the heat of South African summers is very important, but not everyone loves drinking water. Many find it hard to adhere to the prescribed eight glasses a day and find water tasteless and bland.

If you own a good quality blender and want to spice up your summertime beverages, here are a few easy juice recipes that are fun to make and are absolutely delicious.

According to Summer Glow, your body needs fresh nutrients to handle the stress of heat and adjust the activity of your cells. Fresh juice is a great and easy way to support your health during the long, hot summer days.

An added benefit is that the fresh fruit juice holds many nutritional benefits, without any added sugar!

 

Sour Sunshine

If you like a more tart taste than the average sweet juice, a delicious mixture of summer fruits is the Sour Sunshine.

 

Ingredients:

4 lemons

2 kiwis

1 green apple

6 strawberries

Blend the fruits until completely smooth and you’re good to go. For better enjoyment, pour over crushed ice and pop in a paper straw. (We are all about saving the environment.)

 

The Mock Cooler

Cucumber is well-known for being a cooling fruit, alongside watermelon.

 

Ingredients:

10 slices of cucumber

10 tablespoons of watermelon

1 tablespoon of lemon juice.
