Affinity Health: Affordable Accident Cover is Possible
Affinity Health is aware of the immense stress caused by motor vehicle accidents, and the related costs of hospital treatment.
What are the Most Common Injuries After A Motor Vehicle Accident?
Both minor and severe car accidents can leave devastating injuries in their wake. Some injuries are not readily apparent following a motor vehicle accident.
Motor vehicle accidents are unforeseen collisions that can injure your body severely. Different types of injuries include soft tissue, head and internal injuries. Less obvious harm is often experienced in the form of mental and emotional trauma.
Affinity Health’s CEO, Murray Hewlett says, “sprains, strains, bruising, and other damage to muscles, tendons, and ligaments (soft tissue injuries) are very common in low-speed collisions. One of the most reported soft tissue injuries is whiplash, which affects the neck and upper back.”
“Often, the type of injuries depends on whether you’re wearing a seat belt and where the car is hit. It also depends on the direction you’re facing and whether the airbags have been discharged upon impact.”
More severe injuries sustained during high-impact collisions include impact injuries, and penetrating injuries. Impact injuries, such as broken bones, typically happen when part of your body hits some part of the car’s interior. Penetrating injuries generally are cuts and scrapes resulting from shattered glass or objects flying inside the vehicle.
A common type of serious injury following a car accident is a close head injury. This leads to fluid and tissue damage in the skull because of the sudden movement or impact of the head. Some closed head injuries can cause concussions, while others may lead to major trauma, such as brain damage.

Regardless of the type of injury, many vehicle accident victims find themselves unable to return to work immediately.
Depending on the nature of the injury, it may take days, weeks, or even months for symptoms to appear. Added to that is the stress of high medical and hospital costs linked to the treatment needed after an accident. Remember, after a car accident, you might need to have medical treatment for even the slightest discomfort or pain.
