Affinity Health and its CSI arm, The 100% Foundation, remain committed to this same belief and, as such, are proud to support the Work 4 A Living (W4AL) programme.

Over the years, Affinity Health – a proudly South African health insurer, a specialised supplier of a range of long-term health insurance products, operating nationwide from Gauteng – has supported and made strategic investments to assist countless non-profit organisations dedicated to the upliftment of all South Africans.

Working tirelessly with The 100% Foundation, Affinity Health has played a valuable role in skills development.

The 100% Foundation donated 30 chairs and some funds to launch W4AL’s empowerment hub in Northmead, Benoni.

Since 2002, thousands of people have received employment training from W4AL’s 40-plus job centres across Africa and beyond. At the core of W4AL is the “teach a man to fish” philosophy – alleviating poverty by facilitating self-sufficiency.

W4AL concentrates on teaching unemployed people how to work effectively and start their own businesses, as well as improving their computer literacy, office administration, and hospitality skills.

Over 80% of the people who successfully complete a W4AL programme get employed, start businesses, upskill themselves, or continue their education.

Instead of a traditional classroom model, courses are facilitated through storytelling, role-play, and group discussions.
