Tips to a Happy, Healthy Holiday Trip
It is crucial to be prepared for any situation when on holiday. A holiday can quickly go from; out of this world to disastrous. Affinity Health has put together a few tips for a happy and healthy holiday trip.
Health and Safety Protocols
Whether you are looking to stay at a hotel, guest house, or camping grounds, familiarising yourself with the Health and Safety Protocols of your chosen accommodation is essential. Health and Safety Protocols are implemented to protect all guests and staff, and everyone must follow them on the grounds.
First-aid Kit
Ensure you have a first-aid kit with you at all times. A dedicated person can be responsible for the equipment and its whereabouts.
A basic First Aid kit should include:
- Anti-bacterial wipes
- Painkillers
- Gauze pads
- Sunscreen
- Medical gloves
- Medical instrument kit
- Sling
- Burn gel
- Antibiotic ointment
- Antiseptic wipes
- First Aid instructions
- Tourniquet

Medical Services and Equipment
This may not seem important now, but accidents happen when you least expect them to. Before finalising your trip, see what medical facilities are close to your accommodation and activities. Should you or a loved one fall ill or need emergency medical assistance, do you know where to go or who to contact?
If you or anyone travelling with has food allergies, everyone should be aware of the allergy and what to do in the event of an allergic reaction. Think back to past holiday experiences and draw a list of dos and don’ts.
